Australia approves Cyber ​​Security Law

The Australian Parliament has approved this November 25, 2024, its new Australian Cyber Security Strategy 2023-2030.

The law, launched as part of the 2023-2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy, aims to address gaps in Australia’s cyber resilience and move towards the government’s goal of making Australia the most cyber-secure country in the world.

On 8 December 2022, the Minister for Home Affairs and Cyber Security, the Honorable Clare O’Neil MP, announced the development of the Australian Cyber Security Strategy 2023-2030.

“The Australian Government is delivering on its commitment to protect Australia’s cyber environment and our critical infrastructure,” said Cyber ​​Security Minister Tony Burke.

“The government has passed Australia’s first independent Cyber ​​Security Act, a key pillar in our mission to protect Australians from cyber threats.

“This package forms a cohesive legislative toolbox for Australia to move forward with clarity and confidence in the face of an ever-changing cyber landscape.”

The Cyber Security Law will implement seven initiatives introduced for the first time under the Cyber Security Strategy.
